Some time between late 2022 and early 2023 the Quidnessett Country Club (QCC), located near the northern end of North Kingstown RI, built a sea wall near one of the holes of their golf course. Had they applied for a permit to construct a 600 foot long, 20 foot tall rock revetment from RI’s Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC), which is tasked to “preserve, protect, develop, and where possible, restore the coastal resources of the state”, there is little doubt that they would have been ...

Arkansas BHA 2024 Catfish Camp

Catfish Camp 2024 Thirty people braved the heat June 21-23 at Lake Dardanelle State Park to spend time with friends and get out on the water chasing America’s favorite whiskered fish. Trot lines, noodles and drop line fishing from boats provided a couple stringers of blue cats. High temperatures and lack of recent rainfall had the fish biting sporadically, but folks still managed to bring some fillets home for their freezers. The big fish of the weekend was a 13.2 lb blue cat caught by James ...

AFI Event Review (Turkey Camp 2021)

Author: Trevor Hubbs
Event Review Turkey Dual Skills Camp 2021 Thank you so much for hosting this turkey event. I was able to harvest my first turkey with a shotgun but that's not why this event was important. This event was important because the day I got out of the Navy I lost all sense of who I was and what my mission in life is. I've always loved the outdoors and I've been involved with hunting and fishing for the past several years. The piece that ties it all together is combining my peers in the military ...
