If not, I hope you at least have enjoyed some time in nature!  This month, I want to highlight a few important messages. First, as I am sure many of you know, our federal public lands are under attack, with not only a proposal to sell off 500,000 acres, but also proposals to fast track mining and drilling on such pristine places as the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. We have been eating through the last of last year's ramp pesto while getting excited about foraging for more to replenish! I also have taken out my turkey calls and started practicing as I mentally prepare for the turkey opener on May 1st. We have a bunch of stewardship events on the calendar and have locked in a date and location for our big ...

NY BHA December '24 Newsletter

Author: New York BHA
Update from Chapter Chair As the hunting seasons slowly start to come to a close and winter sets in I hope everyone is able to take some time to reflect back on the past year of enjoying your public lands and waters.  As a chapter, we had a pretty solid year.  We hosted over 20 events around the state, including trash cleanups, conservation work, and multiple mentorship events teaching the next class of hunter/angler conservationists. We are wrapping up our planning for next year's work and ...

Update from Chapter Chair Hi fellow public land advocates! I hope you are all enjoying the fall season and having luck filling your freezers! I am writing this before heading out to deer camp for the southern zone firearm opener, so will try to keep this pretty quick. We have a few things to talk about this issue, including reminding you all of the membership drive the NY chapter is running through the end of the year. If you join or renew your BHA membership before the end of the year, you ...
