Backcountry Beat June 2021

Friend —

Summer, summertime and the living is easy!

I hope this note finds you well. I’m still riding the high of our North American Rendezvous. Notes from attendees continue to stream in that just add more fuel to the fire. It was so amazing to see folks after a year of little or no face-to-face contact. The PEOPLE make BHA…well, BHA! As I told those in attendance, our job is to carry the stoke from the Rendezvous back to our own communities. If you couldn’t make Rendezvous, no worries…BHA chapters are hosting more and more events every day…all across North America.

Right now, I’m looking forward to one event in particular: Muster in the Mountains. Camping, good people, and hosted by a brewery…what’s not to love? I hope to see you there July 16-18 in the Catskills in West Kill, New York, and look forward to plotting and scheming with all of you in attendance.

Lastly, 2021 Hike to Hunt is full swing. The added options of biking and paddling are awesome. I don’t know about you, but after a year of covid, I’m in need of the motivation. Get out there, breathe some fresh air, get in shape, draw attention to our public lands and waters, and generate some funds for our amazing organization. Thank you!
