SoCal AFI will be taking five members of the military community onto Vandenberg SFB to conduct a dual skills pig camp along the beautiful coast of Central California. Serving as a constructive outlet for transitioning or previous service members, individuals will be able to enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded individuals. Come learn not only how to hunt pigs but why to hunt and how hunting and hunters play a pivotal role in the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.
This is a dual-skills camp where attendees will be mentored through a hunting experience from the planning phase through the post-harvest meal prep. BHA Mentors will host attendees in the field talking through the ins and outs of pig hunting. Participants will also learn about the importance of protecting public land and water access, along with the ethical chase of wildlife, while highlighting access to the public land located on military bases as a key element of the veterans’ experience and an essential piece of American freedom.
Attendees can expect to learn:
pig habitat
pig habits

how to clean and process a wild pig
history of public lands and waters
The North American model of wildlife conservation
