The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Trailson Moore is the AFI State Liaison for Tennessee BHA and is hosting a learn-to-turkey hunt event.
This is a dual-skills camp where attendees will be mentored through a hunting experience from the planning phase through the post-harvest meal prep. BHA Mentors will host attendees in the field talking through the ins and outs of turkey hunting.
Attendees can expect to learn:
turkey calling,
scouting,
and locating tactics
how to clean and process a wild turkey
history of public lands and waters
North American model of wildlife conservation
When is it:
26 Apr 12PM - 28 Apr 6PM
Where is it:
Camping at Henry Horton State Park
Hunting in Yanahil WMA
Who can attend:
- This event is open to all members of the military community
(Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families)
- You do not need to be a BHA member to attend
(but we sure would appreciate it if you were)
