Canada’s Yukon Territory is home to vast swaths of beautiful wilderness. This sparsely populated land provides great opportunities for hunters and anglers to explore valleys, forests, mountains, rivers, and lakes that have not felt the presence of humans as strongly as many areas farther south. However, there are many competing interests in Yukon. Mining, outfitting, conservation, and a rich First Nations’ history are all important facets of our modern Yukon. In recent years, many Yukoners have felt that these interests have eroded the voice of resident hunters and anglers. We hope that a Yukon Chapter of BHA will serve as a strong, independent platform to ensure that resident hunters and anglers are heard.
