September is Public Lands Month and to kick things off, Iowa BHA is hosting a public lands clean up project in conjunction with Story County Conservation. Join us Sunday, August 27th from 8-12 at the Wicks Wildlife Area in Story City, IA. We will be working to remove invasive plants, mainly invasive honeysuckle. Removing honeysuckle, which can destroy biodiversity in a small area in just a few years, will give the native/desirable plants a chance to grow rather than being smothered out. This will also make the area more attractive to wildlife!
This event is open to open to any & all, so invite your friends, families, and hunting buddies. The more the merrier!
Hope to see you there.
