One of Ohio's most beloved game birds is the plucky woodcock, also known as a timberdoodle for the weird sounds they make. Habitat for these little jet fighters is limited and Ohio BHA has been working with ODNR over the past few years to build some high quality living space for these critters in the headwaters of Ceaser Creek Lake.
We will meet at the Spring Valley Shooting Range at noon on Sunday, September 6 and have a lunch of venison hot dogs with chili and all the fixins courtesy of ODNR, then head over to the habitat improvement project. There, we'll go over the hack and squirt process and get to work! Long pants and closed toe shoes are recommended. We expect to be done by 3:30-4 PM at the latest and will likely retire to a watering hole after for a beer.
