Join the Minnesota Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for a Stewardship and Campout on PUBLIC LANDS DAY WEEKEND, Sept. 25-27!
Starting Friday morning, Sept. 25th, we will caravan to the work site in the Beltrami Island State Forest. These trails are non-motorized trails dedicated for foot-only traffic and managed primarily for hunting, so BHA is just the org for the job!
We will work Friday from 10AM-4PM to clear and maintain Hunter Walking Trails, as well as installing signage throughout the area. Once the work is done, we will set up camp at the cabin of MN BHA Board Member Greg Kvale to share a campfire and wild game before we kick off the waterfowl season Saturday morning.
Saturday, Sept. 26th, volunteers can choose to join chapter leaders to hunt the waterfowl season opener or grouse hunt on the huge swath of public state lands around the area. Camping will be an option for Saturday night also.
*PLEASE NOTE: Running water will not be availbale at camp, so please bring water and plan accordingly.
What to Bring:
- Camping Gear/ Food
- Work Appropriate clothing
- Work Gloves
- Water Bottle
Additional camping is available at nearby Hayes Lake State Park.
BHA Stewardship Events are free to attend and open to the public, so invite your friends and familiesto join and give back to our public lands. Please RSVP and sign the Safety Wavier to confirm attendance.
