Join us for the North Carolina BHA chapter's annual public lands cleanup event, Trashy Squirrel Hunt. TSH is held through the state from late January through the middle of February. This Triangle area event is focused on Jordan Lake waterfowl impoundments on Stagecoach Road and Farrington Road. Depending on number of attendees, other areas at the lake may be addressed.
We will meet in the parking area on the west side of the Stagecoach Road impoundment dam at 8:00am.
3749 Stagecoach Road, Durham NC (35.8837892, -78.9700871)
Because we will picking up debris in the impoundment as well as on the dry land surrounding the impoundment, we encourage you to bring waders and a haul sled if you have them. For those of you who prefer to stay out of the water, there is plenty of dry land litter and debris to be picked up. Tall waterproof boots and work gloves are recommended. This event will go on rain or shine.
As the name Trashy Squirrel Hunt indicates, there are opportunities to hunt squirrels before and after the event. If you are really intent on harvesting squirrels, it is recommended that you hunt from legal shooting light (6:40am) to a few minutes before 8:00am and after we conclude the trash pickup.
