Wyoming BHA Sponsors 1st Annual Youth Antelope Hunt

This November the Wyoming Chapter sponsored a youth antelope hunt near Casper. The event was organized in partnership with local businesses, guides, and organizations, and marks the first annual youth antelope hunt for this partnership. Wyoming Co-Chair Jeff Muratore led this effort for the chapter and guided one of the participants on a successful hunt. In all, ten youth participated and all had successful harvests! The participants were the first to get to hunt the property this year and the event was free to all. This event targeted first time hunters and those with no parents to take them. Two local landowners provided access for the hunt.

Hunter recruitment, retention, and reactivation are critical to the future of our hunting and angling outdoor heritage. Events like these help not only introduce new hunters to a rich sporting tradition, but help to ensure that they understand the importance of our conservation history, our public lands and waters, and the importance of our North American Game Model.
