AFI Event Review (North Carolina 2023)

AFI Event Review North Carolina 2023

Clarification: this review is more on the performance of one of our volunteers in North Carolina over a series of events versus one event, but I thought it was important to highlight this individual's contribution to conservation.

I wanted to compliment your North Carolina staff member, Hunter Owen.

I first met Hunter in 2021 at a learn-to-hunt event on Fort Liberty. His charisma and leadership, along with the BHA and AFi mission, impressed me so much that I felt the need to continue volunteering to help him in any way I could. Hunter has personally planned and led over 20 events in 2023 alone for hundreds of participants, including the 4 months he spent overseas in 2023. Hunter spearheaded an access project that personally created access for over 7,000 service members on over 2000 acres of wetlands now accessible through a public canoe launch. Hunter is the reason I am an AFI member and always will be. His dedication to his team and the Fort Liberty community is an example to be followed by every BHA member.

About Trevor Hubbs

I grew up running hounds on coyotes and raccoons, spent a fair amount of time public land waterfowl hunting, and have hunted upland birds behind my setters across the midwest.
