Friend —
Public Lands Month 2021 is coming to an end, and once again it was a rousing success!
The Public Lands Pack-Out is on track for another record-breaking year. We're still counting the bags of trash you all hauled out from our public lands and waters, but what we've seen so far has been nothing short of incredible. From Illinois to Oregon and beyond - including a jaw-dropping 1,000-plus bags picked up by the Florida chapter alone - what BHA members can accomplish when we put our minds to it never fails to inspire. Thank you.
From boots-on-the-ground cleanups to Washington, D.C., the BHA community is taking action. This September, we sent a grand total of 43,137 letters to our elected leaders via our weekly Public Land Policy Features. You all raised your voices in the name of the North American Grasslands Conservation Act, the Boundary Waters Wilderness, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Recovering America's Wildlife Act - advancing BHA's mission as the voice for our public lands, waters and wildlife. Thank you.
Together we're making our public lands and waters better for people and the flora and fauna that live there. Know that your efforts are having an impact. On behalf of BHA, again thank you! I remain humbled by your passion and commitment - and am stoked that I get to work for an organization whose members put their blood, sweat and tears into making our best places even better. We have much yet to do together!
Onward and upward,

Land President and CEO, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers
