Alaska Rod Company started when its founder, Matt, broke his favorite rod. Frustrated with having to ship the rod out of state for warranty repair and having to wait the extended period for the rod to be repaired and shipped back to him, he began looking for an in-state rod company that he could buy from. Upon searching, he was unable to find any Alaska-based fishing rod manufacturers.
Shocked that one of the world’s most premier fishing destinations did not have their own trusted rod company, he sought out to create durable and high performance fishing rods that are deserving of Alaska and its amazing anglers.
Each rod is hand built in Soldotna, Alaska.
