Brandon Nelson - San Diego Events Leader
My name is Brandon Nelson. I was born and raised in Southern California where I started hunting in 2001 for upland game. I do not come from a hunting family and was fortunate enough to find a mentor who showed me the basics to get started on my hunting journey. Although I have been hunting for many years I will be the first to admit I am no expert and I plan on being a lifelong student of this dynamic sport.
From hunting midwest whitetails to chasing elk in the west, I have a passion for hunting, which as many people know is time in the wilderness. Overall, I enjoy being in the wilderness and experiencing all it has to offer. Outside hunting I enjoy hiking with my family and have been able to hike Mount Whitney with my wife.
I currently live in San Diego and enjoy spending time in my home town of Big Bear. Sharing my passion for the outdoors and hunting is always a priority for me.
Anne Holton - San Diego Events Leader
I was born and raised in the great state of Idaho. I spent a lot of time outdoors fly fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. In the summers I was running backcountry pack trips with an outfitter in central Idaho. My job working for an outfitter fueled my passion for recreation on public lands. My love for the outdoors grew even more when I attended The University of Montana Western. I finished my bachelors degree in environmental science in May of 2020. This degree allowed me to dive into many different conservation projects and research. It was a hands-on program that opened the door for a future career in conservation and outdoor education. I was lucky to marry my high school sweetheart who supported my education goals and shares a passion for the outdoors.
My husband is currently stationed in Southern California. While living here we are eager to get involved with the different projects and programs that Backcountry Hunter and Anglers provides.
