Welcome to the California Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers

We are the Voice for California's Wild Public Lands, Waters & Wildlife

California has approximately 38 MILLION ACRES of Public Land that you can hunt on. Thats roughly 38% of the entire state.

The varied topography and climate zones of California host over 6,500 different plant species as well as over 1,000 distinct animal species, a large number of which are native & endemic to the state.

With almost 190,000 miles of rivers (nearly 2,000 designated as wild & scenic) and over 800 miles of coastline, the Golden State has more than a life time's worth of hunting and angling opportunities.

That is why the California Chapter of BHA seeks to ensure that North America's outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing is sustained for generations, through education and work on behalf of the state's wild public lands, waters and wildlife.
