Join us for a day of pulling fence at Perins Peak State Wildlife Area near Durango, CO. This project will greatly enhance wintering habitat for elk and mule deer by removing the old fence eventually leading to replacement with a wildlife friendly version. We will be joined by stafe from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
This is prime turkey habitat and turkey Season is open during the weekend so if you have any interest in chasing a bird Saturday afternoon or Sunday fill free to bring your gear. You can get an over-the-counter license for turkey in this area.
Friday: For those wishing to camp out with us we will Initially meet at the designated parking area at Perins Peak SWA on Friday evening. We have been given special permission to camp at the parking area. Bring your own food to cook/ eat and BHA will provide limited beverages and marshmallows for roasting. There are no fire pits at this location so if you want your own fire to cook or the like then you will need to bring your own fire pit, pan, or barrel. (see more information on camping below)

Saturday Evening: To show our appreciation for all your hard work BHA will be buying pizza at Ska Brewing and a round of beer! We will meet at the brewery starting at 6pm and folks can hang out until they are ready to go. If you are interested in camping out again on Saturday night after the workday, we will be able to use the same parking area campsite as Friday night.
