event_description: All are invited to join us for the Overbrook iWIHA Cleanup on June 8, 2024, starting at 9 a.m. This project, located 30 minutes south of Lawrence, offers volunteers the opportunity to assist with invasive tree clearing and waterfowl habitat management along the Eight Mile Creek in Douglas County, Kansas.   Volunteers are encouraged to bring chainsaws and other tree removal equipment, but will be required to provide their own personal protection equipment (including ear/eye protection, gloves, and chaps). Volunteers will need to sign either the electronic liability waiver in advance or a paper waiver the day of the event. All volunteers should bring leather work gloves and eye protection. We will finish up the workday with a cookout provided by BHA, and all volunteers will receive a volunteer package from Kansas BHA state sponsor Waltons Meat.  This event is open to BHA members, friends, and non-members!  RSVP using the link below so we know to expect you. Can’t join us, but want to support Public Land, Waters and Wildlife? Join BHA today or make a Donation! Keep up with the Kansas Chapter of BHA on Facebook, Instagram and on the Web.  To be notified of future public land stewardship projects in Kansas, subscribe to our mailing list here https://www.backcountryhunters.org/ksnewsletter
