Robert Land is the AFI State Liaison for Oklahoma BHA and is hosting a learn-to-waterfowl hunt event brought to you by veteran-owned G&H decoys. What is it:A Dual Skills camp is a learn-to-hunt event where attendees will be mentored through a hunting experience from the planning phase through the post-harvest meal prep. BHA Mentors will host attendees in the field talking through the ins and outs of waterfowl hunting.  After the hunt a regional expert will walk participants through how hunting affects conservation in OK, what is the North American model of conservation, and how participants can use their voice as members of the military community to support BHAs conservation mission. Also included in this event is a tour of the G&H decoy manufacturing plant including decoys for each participant to take home for continued use in the field. Attendees can expect to learn:- how to I.D. Waterfowl on the wing- Field hunting strategies-Open water strategies- Flooded timber hunting strategies- Proper ammunition of firearms for waterfowl hunting- How to clean and prepare ducks and geese for the table-Tennets of the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation-How becoming a conservationist is a natural fit for the military community- and more When is it:Thursday, January 4th, 2024 starting at 5:00 p.m. through the weekend ending Sunday, January 7th at noon. Where is it:601 North U.S.Hwy 75, Henryetta, OK 74437 Who can attend:- This event is open to all members of the military community(Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families)- You do not need to be a BHA member to attend (but we sure would appreciate it if you were)This event is limited to 4 participants!
