The Oklahoma Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers is partnering with biologists from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife at the Heyburn WMA.
Volunteers will assist the biologist and be split into two groups. One group will plant various oak and persimmons saplings in selected areas. The other group will spread a granular herbicide to remove unwanted species of plants.
This event marks the third year BHA has partnered with the biologist at the Heyburn WMA to improve the habitat.
Volunteers will need to bring work gloves and shovels.
