Mountain Home AFI is hosting a stewardship event to clean surrounding BLM lands!
Why You Should Want to Attend:
The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Our stewardship events are designed to support the local public lands we all enjoy and recreate on.
What is it:
Mountain Home AFI is joining the Bureau of Land Management and the Idaho National Guard in a public lands cleanup on BLM lands inside of the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area. Join us for a day of hauling shot-up washing machines, mattresses, and various household objects off our public lands.
In addition to the cleanup, the Idaho National Guard will host informational booths. These booths will offer safe shooting tips, details on the environmental initiatives undertaken by the Guard, and an informational vehicle display featuring an Abrams tank and Bradley fighting vehicle. Participants will have the unique opportunity to learn more about the National Guard’s role in environmental conservation and get an up-close look at some of the equipment used in national defense.
Some equipment such as gloves will be available on a limited basis but please bring any gear, footwear, and clothing that you think would be useful. Please be sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and any food that you think you might need.
