Join us on Thursday, October 28th between 6pm and 8pm at Monumental Beer Works in Grand Junction for an informal gathering to catch up on hunting seasons, chapter priorities, and to discuss some opportunities you have right now to shape the future of our public lands for the benefit of wildlife.
We will be in the small outside patio area (south of the bar). We will have BHA merchandise on hand, you can renew your membership, and get to know your local chapter leaders.
Priority issues we will be discussing include:
- The Grand Mesa Uncompahgre Gunnison (GMUG) Forest is undergoing significant changes in management and direction right now and we have the opportunity to shape its future to benefit wildlife. This is our forest and a fifth of all Colorado elk and mule deer call it home. We hunt, fish, and camp here....let's make sure our voices are heard and values are reflected in the future management of this forest. You can learn more about BHA's vision for the forest here.
- We have upcoming work projects that we need volunteer support for. These projects are intended to benefit wildlife and user experiences on the ground.
- Chapter Roundup - we will be discussing efforts across the state from stream access, to our R3 efforts, to migration corridor work. We are always looking for quality projects close to home and welcome and suggestions you may have locally.
We are very lucky in Western Colorado to have such a strong hunting and fishing heritage and plenty of public land to pursue those passions. BHA’s strength comes from our members but we are always looking to bring new faces to our events to help foster the positive growth of the community, so feel free to bring a friend.
