Montana Fish & Wildlife August 2022 Meeting

The Fish and Wildlife Commission is meeting on Thursday, and it's a doozy.

Included in the agenda are pen-raised pheasant releases, further delaying outfitter caps on the Madison River, amending the temperatures that trigger hoot-owl restrictions for cutthroat trout streams, a proposed acquisition for a new Wildlife Management Area at the base of the Big Snowy Mountains, and more.

Meeting Date: August 25, 2022
Location: Helena, State Capitol, Room 317
or virtually via Zoom
Start Time: 8:30 a.m.

To comment on any of these at Thursday's meeting, you must either attend in person or register to provide remote testimony by noon on Wednesday.

If helpful, here are the comments from Montana BHA on some of these items:

Pheasant Stocking

Changes to Habitat Montana (this has been pulled from the agenda as of August 22nd)

Outfitter Caps on the Madison River

Amendments to the Hoot-owl Closures

Big Snowy Mountains WMA Acquisition

We appreciate your ongoing participation in these decisions that impact our hunting and fishing opportunities and wildlife habitat in Montana.

Sincerely,

The Montana Chapter of BHA
