The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. What better way to burn off the Thanksgiving eating than with a pheasant hunt? Join the members of Minot AFI and learn about pheasant hunting,
A Dual Skills camp is a learn-to-hunt event where attendees will be mentored through a hunting experience from the planning phase through the post-harvest processing. BHA Mentors will host attendees in the field talking through the ins and outs of pheasant hunting in North Dakota. After the hunt, an AFI mentor will walk participants through the cleaning, processing, and cooking prep for pheasant.
Attendees can expect to learn:
- How to I.D. pheasant habitat
- Proper ammunition and firearms for pheasant hunting
- How to clean and prepare a pheasant for the skillet

-Public/private land partnership in ND
-How becoming a conservationist is a natural fit for the military community

Who can attend:
- This event is open to all members of the military community
(Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families)
- You do not need to be a BHA member to attend
(but we sure would appreciate it if you were)
