Minnesota BHA

Congratulations to Minnesota BHA for being named Chapter of the Month!

The Minnesota chapter hosted 5 CWD Pint Nights in October across the state in partnership with the MN Department of Natural Resources and other conservation partners. The Minnesota DNR provided demonstrations on removing deer lymph nodes from harvested deer and MN BHA provided attendees with test kits to take node samples from their harvested deer this season and send them in for CWD testing. The project was piloted last year and the counties where the events were held yielded the highest return of kits across the state.

The Minnesota chapter of BHA has also partnered with the Minnesota Conservation Federation and Bluffland Whitetails Association to host the Governor’s Deer Opener in November in Lanesboro Minnesota.  “Minnesota is home to exceptional public lands and unparalleled outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the state,” Governor Tim Walz said. “We’re excited to add a fresh twist to tradition by hosting a venison sampler,” said Eli Mansfield, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Minnesota chapter board chair. “Communing over meals is where stories are swapped, traditions are honored, and new friendships are forged.”
