Montana Backcountry Hunters and Anglers partnered with the North American Pronghorn Foundation and other partners to participate in a fence removal and modification project at the Box X Ranch in southeastern Montana. Pronghorn moverment on the ranch has been tracked using collared pronghorn, and the hope with this project is that the movement of pronghorn becomes less restricted on the ranch with the removal of the old sheep fencing. The project was a great success, miles of fencing was removed to either be replaced with wildlife friendly fencing, or with the new virtual fencing system the Box X Ranch owners/operators are now using. BHA was happy to lend a hand and work with great partners and landowners for a worthwhile cause; giving pronghorn the freedom to roam unrestricted.
