Support Selenium Standards for Lake Koocanusa & the Kootenai River

Water binds us all together, and in the case of northwest Montana, our community is living with the downstream effects of the upriver environment. For this reason and many others, Montana BHA strongly supports the state of Montana's proposed water quality limits to protect Lake Koocanusa and the Kootenai River from selenium contamination from Canada’s coal ...

Author: David Lien
A Colorado Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA) member recently asked me about hunting in southwest Colorado’s San Juan Mountains, where I’ve been stalking elk for over a decade now. Unfortunately, elk numbers are alarmingly low in some areas and there have been several years when I haven’t seen a single elk.
