The Hughes Creek Road in Ravalli County was illegally gated for decades. Lawmakers hear bill to increase fines for illegally blocking roads

An effort long championed by access groups to increase fines for illegally blocking public roads made its return to the Legislature on Friday with a bill that could raise fines to up to $500 per day. Libby lawmaker eyes legislative change to Lake Koocanusa selenium standard

Bill would reduce hunting, fishing license costs for some nonresidents

Some nonresidents would be eligible for lower-cost hunting and fishing licenses in 2024 under a bill presented to the Senate Fish and Game Committee on Thursday. Show us a resident hunter who doesn't think there are too many out-of-state hunters in Montana. We’ll wait.
