We are currently set to assist with road decommissioning on a BLM road that received illegal ATV use up Tower Creek, North of Salmon.
We will be working alongside some interested nearby land-owners and other volunteers. We may or may not have Youth Employment Program working with us this round since it appears to be prior to their BLM opportunity announcement.
Arrive: Friday, June 17th or by 8 am Saturday morning. I will have spots reserved at Morgan Bar along the Salmon River for tent camping. There might be a few trailer spots as well, but this site is not set up for many large trailers or RV’s. There is a picnic spot with grills, BLM outhouses, and river boat access.
Saturday Work Day: Obliteration of decommissioned road on BLM up Tower Creek. The BLM will supply all our tools. We will need to coordinate lunch and beverages for at the site, which is maybe a mile hike in at best. The back-up to this plan will be hiking in to one of the aspen exclosures for repair work in the Lemhi Valley. We’ll plan a social event with local BHA members regardless if anyone is planning on camping at the Morgan Bar site.
Sunday: Go fish, or day float the Salmon and then head home.
