GMUG Comment Writing Workshop

Pleas join CO BHA on Tuesday, October 26th from 6pm-7:30pm for a virtual GMUG Comment Writing Workshop.

Event Description:

During the workshop we will be highlighting aspects of the plan that hunters and anglers should support and calling attention to aspects of the plan that need to be improved upon. We will reserve the 2nd half of the workshop for Q&A and to provide you guidance on how to submit an effective comment by the November 12th comment deadline.

Background:

In early August the U.S. Forest Service released the Grand Mesa Uncompahgre Gunnison (GMUG) draft forest plan. This draft plan does two things, it establishes a range of alternative visions that would guide management on the forest for the next 15-20 years, and it gives you the opportunity to advocate for the vision(s) you believe are necessary to ensuring we have healthy wildlife populations to sustain our hunting heritage for decades to come.

The Colorado Chapter has been actively engaged on this plan for years, publishing a GIS analysis and report, working with partners to build support for wildlife, and submitting comments to the Forest Service throughout the planning process.
