AFI Arizona: Ninja Squirrel Hunt in the Huachucas — Ida Canyon, Coronado National Forest, AZ

Event Start Date: 10/24/2026 8:00 AM

Event End Date: 10/24/2026 12:00 PM

Timezone: MST

Join Arizona AFI for a mentored squirrel hunting dual skills camp in the Ida Canyon area of Coronado National Forest — a learn-to-hunt experience that takes participants from gear selection all the way through the post-harvest meal prep.

AFI mentors will guide attendees through every phase of a squirrel hunt in the Huachuca Mountains of southeastern Arizona. After the hunt, Arizona AFI Liaison Leland Hart will lead a discussion on how hunting drives conservation in Arizona, what the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation is, and how members of the military community can use their voices to support BHA's public lands mission.

Space is limited to 12 participants. A participant application is required.

Bring a lunch for the post-hunt discussion.
