Join BHA AFI JBLM for a partnered habitat stewardship day at the Violet Prairie Wildlife Area near Tenino, Washington — a recently acquired property on the west side of the Cascades and part of the broader Scatter Creek wildlife corridor.
In partnership with Sentinel Landscapes and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, volunteers will remove decommissioned fencing from the property, helping open up habitat and improve wildlife movement across one of the more productive public land landscapes on this side of the mountains. This is also a great chance to get familiar with the public land opportunities in the Scatter Creek Wilderness Area — some of the most accessible and underutilized ground in western Washington.
