The Deer & Pheasant Hunt Camp is a new Minnesota BHA gathering designed to bring members, families, and supporters together for a relaxed, mission-aligned weekend centered around two of Minnesota’s fall hunting seasons. The camp will provide opportunities for participants to pursue both pheasant and deer while building community around public-land hunting, conservation, ethical harvest, and shared outdoor experiences. Participants have the option to lodge in the dormitory of Eagle Bluff for a nightly fee or camp on nearby state forest lands, arriving Friday evening and staying through Sunday. Participants will have access to communal spaces, including Eagle Bluff dorm common areas and campfire rings. Participants will be responsible for providing their own meals throughout the weekend. They may choose to eat at restaurants in nearby Lanesboro or other surrounding towns, cook over one of Eagle Bluff’s campfire rings, or bring their own camp stove. Eagle Bluff also has a grill available for participant use.

Throughout the weekend, hunters may pursue pheasant and deer (muzzleloader or bow/crossbow) on nearby state forest lands. Participants can choose to hunt independently, join others, or connect with more experienced hunters for informal mentorship and shared learning. Evenings at camp will provide an opportunity to gather, cook together, share stories, process game, and reflect on the day’s hunts. This social time is a centerpiece of the event, strengthening chapter identity, creating opportunities for mentorship, and building the relationships that sustain BHA’s mission across Minnesota.

By centering responsible harvest, public-land opportunity, conservation, and fellowship, the Eagle Bluff Deer & Pheasant Hunt Camp will help MN BHA build community, expand its Southeastern Minnesota footprint, and introduce more people to the traditions and responsibilities of hunting. The event will also create an opportunity for hunters of different experience levels to connect, learn from one another, and experience the camaraderie of a traditional fall hunting camp.
