Are you and your rifle ready for the upcoming big game seasons?

Join Colorado Backcountry Hunters and Anglers for a day of shooting to get your rifle dialed in. We invite both novice and experienced shooters alike to take advantage of a day with a reserved range at Great Guns Sporting on October 4th, 2026 from 8 am to 1 pm. There will be instruction available for new shooters and shooters with new rifles, as well as some equipment available for scope mounting and adjustments. It is an outdoor range so be prepared with layers and sun protection. Targets will be provided. There will be a grilled picnic style lunch provided as well!

Firearm Requirements: • You must arrive with your rifle cased, unloaded, with an open chamber • All rifles will be inspected prior to instruction • Bring one to two boxes of the ammunition you intend to hunt with. Assistance will be available for mounting and adjustments if needed.

Participant Requirements: • Be aged 18 years or older • Familiarize yourself with the 4 Rules of Firearm Safety o Treat all firearms as if they are loaded o Keep your muzzle pointed in a safe direction at all times o Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re on target and prepared to fire o Know your target and what is beyond it • Respect all participants and facilitators • Make safety your first priority. If you see something unsafe, say something. • Failure to follow all firearm safety rules and instruction from range staff or event volunteers will result in immediate dismissal from the event.
