Date: August 14th 7am - Noon or 3pm
Location: Elkhorn Creek - Pfeiffer Fish Hatchery 1883 Indian Gap Road Frankfort, KY
We plan to meet at the Fish Hatchery at 7am and from there shuttle up to the Sullivan lane put in to drop off people and gear. We will float down and take out at the Fish hatchery. This will be a good time to evaluate progress and take a break/lunch. If we have time and ability we can float from the fish hatchery down to the US 127 bridge take out and have a team pick up people. Our normal work hours are 7am-3pm and I think we should be able to accomplish what we want in the time frame. If people need to leave once we arrive at the hatchery, we can coordinate that too.
What to bring: - OPTIONAL: kayaks, canoes, or small jon boats. (these will be used mostly to float out the trash so expect them to get muddy, wet, and possibly scratched up) - PFD if you’re planning to bring a kayak, canoe, or jon boat. - clothes that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty - old boots or shoes for wading through the creek - gloves - water/drinks to stay hydrated, snacks, lunch. - contractor bags - rope or straps for securing trash to the boats.
