Public Lands Pint Night:
Offal Wildlife Watching Project
Wednesday, July 22 | 6:00–7:30 PM
Black Spruce Brewing Company | Fairbanks, AK
Join the Alaska Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers at Black Spruce Brewing Company for an evening of conservation, hunting, and wildlife research.
This month's Pint Night features researchers from the University of Alaska Fairbanks Offal Wildlife Watching Project, a citizen science initiative exploring how gut piles and other hunter-provided remains support Alaska's wildlife. From wolves and wolverines to foxes, bears, ravens, and countless other scavengers, hunters play an often-overlooked role in Arctic and boreal ecosystems.
Learn how you can participate in this exciting research by placing a trail camera at your gut pile after a successful hunt and contribute valuable information about wildlife behavior and food webs across Alaska. Researchers will share early insights from the project, explain how hunters can get involved, and answer your questions during an open Q&A.
Whether you're a hunter, wildlife enthusiast, or simply curious about the connections between hunting and healthy ecosystems, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a local pint while learning about cutting-edge research taking place right here in Alaska.
