Join Arizona AFI for the third annual Trout and Trash Bash at Parker Canyon Lake in Elgin, AZ — one of AZ AFI's flagship events and a great way to give back to the public lands we love while enjoying a day on the water.
The morning kicks off with a group trash cleanup along the water's edge and trails surrounding the lake on the Coronado National Forest. Participants will work together to remove as much litter as possible from this beautiful public resource before shifting gears to a fishing contest in the late morning and early afternoon. Prizes will be awarded for the heaviest trash haul and the longest fish caught — so come ready to compete on both fronts.
Set along the shores of one of Arizona's most scenic high-elevation lakes, this event combines hands-on habitat stewardship with outdoor recreation and good company. Whether you're a seasoned angler or picking up a rod for the first time, there's a place for you here.
Volunteers who need documentation of hours served may request a memorandum from the event organizer.
