EVENT DETAILS

Hey New Mexico! Join NM BHA, Habitat Stewardship Coordinator Elden Aguilar for our first stewardship event on the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument. As we will be collaborating with Taos BLM Field Office to remove and modify 1 Mile of fencing on the San Antonio Mountain. We will be implementing a more wildlife-friendly fencing called “lay down fencing” to replace the existing one. Lay down Fencing is typically made up of 4 strand wire attached to wood, wired at the base of ground-installed posts. It can be laid down over long distances while keeping the tension. This special Modification is effective especially when livestock aren’t being contained in a high traffic area where wildlife are seasonal moving. It is a vital part of the migration corridor for the Pronghorn Antelope, Mule deer, and Elk herds within the National Monument.

As a special appreciation for your Volunteering. everyone will recieve a  collectible poster and stickers exclusively for this event. Each following event will have special design and animal. Artwork done by local artist WILD STYLN ART. And to top things off, LUNCH will be provided. Smoked BBQ Sandwhiches, how good does that sound? So make sure you sign up today! lets have a GOOD TIME!
