Wisconsin AFI is Hosting a Warriors for Waterfowl Habitat Improvement Day at Turtle Valley Wildlife Area!

Join Wisconsin AFI for a hands-on Waterfowl Habitat Stewardship Day at Turtle Valley Wildlife Area, where service members, veterans, and Gold Star family members can continue their mission through conservation and habitat restoration.
What It Is:
The Warriors for Waterfowl Habitat Improvement Day is a stewardship-focused conservation project designed to enhance waterfowl habitat on public lands through practical, hands-on work.
Attendees can expect to:

Install wood duck houses to increase nesting opportunities

Remove invasive species to improve wetland health

Participate in trash cleanup to protect wildlife and water quality

Learn about waterfowl habitat conservation and stewardship practices

Work alongside fellow veterans and conservation-minded volunteers
No prior experience is needed — all tools, guidance, and instruction will be provided.

Open to all members of the military community — Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star Families

Conservation-minded volunteers and BHA supporters are welcome
You do not need to be a BHA member to attend (but we’d love it if you were!).

No experience required — just bring weather-appropriate clothing and a willingness to help

Wood duck houses and materials provided through partnerships with Wisconsin BHA and the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association
