Event Start Date: 4/24/2026
Event End Date: 4/26/2026
Timezone: MDT
Interested in boots on the ground stewardship work that directly impacts wildlife? Idaho BHA has you covered, we are looking to remove around 1 mile of barbwire fence. This effort will directly influence migrating big game animals and open more habitat connectivity. Join us April 24 to the 26.

We will be working on BLM land just north of Mountain Home Idaho and about 1 hour away from Boise. The fence we are removing is located on a steep hillside and may challenge mobility or balance for some individuals.
For campers bring what you would need for a weekend out on public land. BHA will provide breakfast and coffee for those camping on the morning of April 25th.
If you don't want to camp but still would like to volunteer, meet the group at the work location on Saturday April 25.

Schedule:
Friday April 24: Camping on the South Fork of the Boise the night before the event. I will have coffee and breakfast for folks who come out and camp. This is not mandatory for the event.
Saturday April 25: We will meet at 9:30 am at the project location, to discuss the work and do a safety briefing. BHA will provide lunch, snacks, and drinks. Plan on working until 4pm.
Saturday Evening: Wild game potluck at camp. Please bring a dish to share, it is not mandatory to have wild game. Vegetables are always welcome.
Sunday April 26: Fence work is optional. If we have more to do and people are up for it we will work half a day.
What to Bring: Plenty of water, work gloves, long sleeve shirt, pants you don’t mind getting holes in, ancle high boots, sunglasses or safety glasses.
What BHA will provide: Lunch on Saturday, work gloves, fencing tools, and some free BHA swag. One Volunteer will also win a free pair of Bogs Boots, just for attending the event!
The camping location is listed below. The most direct route to the work location and campsite is to take Highway 20 north of Mountain Home and turn left onto Prairie Road. Camp will be on the South Fork of the Boise River. An email will be sent out to volunteers who sign up with additional details the week of the event.
