Trout Unlimited and Alaska Backcountry Hunters & Anglers invite you to a collaborative Pint Night featuring steelhead researcher Michael Courtney.

Join us for an evening exploring the ocean migration, behavior, and ecology of steelhead kelts, with insights from ongoing research in Southeast Alaska. Michael Courtney, a fisheries ecologist with the University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, will share what scientists are learning about where steelhead go at sea, how they behave after spawning, and why this life stage is critical to the long-term resilience of steelhead populations.

This talk highlights the intersection of healthy rivers, connected marine systems, and sustained access for anglers and conservation-minded recreationists. These are core values shared by Trout Unlimited and Alaska BHA.

Come enjoy a beer, connect with fellow anglers and public land advocates, and dig into the science that informs stewardship of Alaska’s wild fish and waters.
