Join the Florida Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for a DIY hunt camp in North Florida near Telogia!

Interested in hunting, but don't know how to get started? We get it. Hunting can be intimidating- knowing where to hunt, scouting, finding sign, and firearms. BHA is helping to take the guesswork out of your first experience and relieve some of that stress. BHA advocates fair chase, public land access, and habitat stewardship. In addition, the Florida Chapter puts together events to help new hunters. We will provide hands-on assistance to attendees in a safe, private land setting that is designed and managed to ensure the best educational experience for attendees.

Reserve your spot TODAY!! Only 14 hunting spaces are available!! (We can host up to 28 hunters if everyone hunts with a partner.)

About the property: This property is owned by the organization The Future of Hunting in Florida and is used exclusively for hosting educational hunting events. 14 elevated box blinds dot the landscape throughout the property on and around feeding and bedding areas. You can hunt individually or with a friend in seclusion with camp mentors on site to ensure safety and training. Hunters will be assigned an elevated blind location to spread out pressure and ensure distance between you and other hunters.

THIS IS NOT A GUIDED HUNT! Mentors will be available to educate and help with field dressing, but hunters will be hunting without immediate supervision.

Lodging:

This hunt is designed as a minimalistic hunt camp experience. You may bring and pitch your own tent on the property for free, or for $50 you can reserve a bunk. You must bring your own bedding and padding if you reserve a bunk. The bunk house is a basic barracks-style room without electricity or running water. (Water will be provided for washing hands and drinking.)

Pricing:

Individual Weekend Ticket- $150 for a private, elevated blind for 1 person

2-Person Weekend Ticket- $200 for you and a friend/partner to share a blind.

*Pricing includes all meals for Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Costs go towards providing programming, mentors, property rental, and supporting BHA's mission to create more opportunities and public access while fostering and educating future conservation advocates.

**All participants must be 18 or older. All participants must have a valid Florida deer license and tags available. Animals legal to take include antlered deer (at least 2 points 1 inch or longer on 1 side), antlerless deer, and hogs. This hunt is limited to acceptable rifles per FWC regulations (https://myfwc.com/hunting/regulations/taking-game/). If you do not have an appropriate rifle contact the event coordinator and one may be available for rent for an additional fee.

If you are new to hunting and don’t know what this means, reach out and we will help you! With questions, please reach out to Todd Riechert at mr.reichert@gmail.com.
