Where: Aquaduct Trailhead - County Road 39, just outside Mancos CO ()
Please come join the Southwest Colorado Chapter of BHA and the Tres Rios BLM Field Office to remove some ancient barbed wire fencing that runs through critical wildlife winter range. The Aquaduct trail system just Northwest of Mancos, CO has seasonal closures for winter rangelands critical for our local wildlife herds. We often see elk, deer, and turkeys in this area and this fencing has is doing nothing but causing issues.
The BLM will have some fencing tools, but if possible please bring good fencing pliers. Please come prepared with your own PPE such as gloves, long sleeves, pants, and boots.
The work likely will not take long, we expect to be done by lunchtime. BHA will provide a few snacks and beverages.
Please plan to meet at the first access to the Aquaduct area off road 39, just outside Mancos at 9 am.
