Cleveland Metroparks, in partnership with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, is hosting the first annual Sturgeon Fest to celebrate the historic stocking of 1,500 juvenile lake sturgeon and their reintroduction into the Cuyahoga River. Come join federal, state, and local conservation organizations as we celebrate this momentous reintroduction of this ancient species. This family-friendly event will feature a sturgeon touch tank, live animal displays, hands-on activities, food, drinks, and music, all designed to engage conservation minded people in educational experiences and inspire community actions that support healthy watershed behaviors.
The Ohio Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers will be at Sturgeon Fest, connecting with the people of Northeast Ohio and sharing our mission as a conservation-minded organization. Stop by our table to hear of our work to protect public lands, waters, and wildlife, and celebrate a major step forward in restoring Ohio's native waters.
We invite attending members to share drinks and stories with OH BHA board members at Forest City Brewery (2135 Columbus Road, Cleveland, OH 44113) after the event.
