Thank you for the opportunity to comment on your ‘Understand and Mitigate the Disease of Brucellosis in Elk’ proposal.
The Montana Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers fully supports any effort to better inform the public of FWP’s ongoing efforts to mitigate the disease of brucellosis in elk. In our view, FWP has been doing a great job of tackling this issue, but given the recommendation here, it is apparent that the citizens of Montana are not as informed about FWP’s work in this area. We believe that this could easily be rectified through some of the other proposals presented. Specifically, FWP could implement more communication about their efforts with the mobile app and increased hunter education could also help hunters understand the disease.
