Join the University of Idaho BHA Chapter for an afternoon of wire pulling at the Strobel Marsh Parcel of the Coeur d'Alene River Wildlife Management area near Killarney Lake. This parcel of the WMA is part of the Upland Game Bird Permit Release Area for the Idaho Fish and Game. Pheasants are actively stocked on the parcel directly across the river (Lane Parcel) making this a popular hunting spot. The old, abandoned barbed wire fence poses a safety issue to hunters and dogs, as well as wildlife that uses this portion of the WMA.
Go out for a morning hunt and join us afterwards at 13:00 with sturdy shoes, work gloves, warm clothes, and wire cutters if you have them. Please wear hunter orange as the unit will be open for hunting at the time. Parking is along the dirt road to Killarney Lake, please respect private property. Hot drinks and snacks will be provided. Kids and well behaved dogs encourage to join in the fun. We will be cutting, rolling, and carrying wire back to the road (<1/2 mile, uneven terrain), as well as pulling t-posts if the ground allows us.
