event_description: The Illinois Chapter of BHA will hosting a trail cleaning day for our soon-to-open 3D Archery Range! Work will begin at 8:00AM, but come any time before 10:00AM.  Load up and join ILBHA and USACE as we work to clear the trail that will be known as the Lake Shelbyville Archery Park. Work Day is scheduled for all day, though we will likely finish early. Things to bring:GlovesComfortable boots/shoesClothes for working in outside (dress for the weather)WaterFood/SnacksBackground: There have been rumblings of a public 3-D archery range in Shelby County, Illinois.  In early 2022, ILBHA began conversations with Lake Shelbyville US Army Corps of Engineers about the dream of building a public 3-D archery trail, the first BHA sponsored 3-D archery trail in the nation.  Those conversations have turned into reality, and a site has been selected and approved.  In early 2023, ILBHA, Illinois S3DA, and Lake Shelbyville Youth Ambassadors joined efforts and the project has been 1 of 7 USACE projects across the nation to receive partnership grant funding, funding which will primarily help to make sure ALL public landowners have access.  The trail will be a conservation experience with not only 3-D targets but information along the way about wildlife, conservation, and sponsors who help to make it all happen.Please reach out to illinoisbackcountryhunters.org with any questions.
