A quick note to let you know about two opportunities available to Oregon Backcountry Hunters & Anglers members to participate in public lands conservation, maintenance and restoration projects:
White River Wildlife Area Convservation Project:
On April 7, 2012 The Traditional Archers of Oregon is sponsoring a conservation project at the White River Wildlife Area near Tygh Valley. There are several projects that need support. Backcountry Hunters & Anglers members are welcome and invited to participate in the work project and the archery shoot on the following day. On April 8 there will be a traditional archery golf shoot. Primitive camping sites are available on April 6, 7 and 8 for those interested in attending and participating in either the conservation project and/or the golf shoot. For more information on the weekends activities please see:http://www.taoregon.com/gsflyer.html
Soda Mountain Wilderness Restoration & Maintenance Project:
From July 13 to 15, 2012 theCascade-Siskiyou National Monument staff will be leading a three (3) day, two (2) night volunteer work trip into the Soda Mountain Wilderness area within the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument to clear former roads now converted to trails of downed trees and brush. Oregon chapter members Ian Reid and Mike Beagle have suggested that this will be a great project for interested OrBHA members. For additional information on this project please see:http://www.blm.gov/or/resources/recreation/csnm/csnm-vol-opp.phpIf you are interested in participating on this project, you can reply to this message or sent a note to Ian ([email protected]) or Mike ([email protected])
Thank you for your participation in Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. Please let us know about suggestions that you have for projects or activities near where you live or in those wild places that you visit to hunt, fish or just recharge your batteries. If you're interested in participating in either of the two projects identified above please reply to this message or contact Ian or Mike for the Soda Mountain project.
Sincerely,
Fred Cliff
