Want to make a difference in conservation and give back to one of the best pieces of public land in the state of West Virginia? The West Virginia Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, in conjunction with the WVDNR and other state conservation groups, is seeking volunteers for a habitat improvement workday at Stonewall Jackson Wildlife Management Area near Roanoke, WV.
Volunteers will assist the WVDNR mitigate invasive species and improve habitat in one of the WVDNR turkey brood research areas. The workday will be on August 12th from 8am-4pm and we ask folks to pack some snacks and bring plenty of water to drink. The chapter will provide a light lunch for all hard-working volunteers.
We strongly encourage folks to RSVP before July 21st for logistical purposes and providing volunteer forms for the WVDNR.
This is an excellent opportunity to support our public lands, but also to meet some great like-minded folks and walk away with new friends! Camping is available nearby and would allow you an opportunity to have a fun family weekend while making a great impact!
