Join us in partnering with the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation to protect and conserve the beautiful Scapegoat Wilderness. This year we'll be treating an exotic and invasive weed infestation in the meadows surrounding Webb Lake and the Webb Lake cabin, deep in the Scapegoat Wilderness. Invasive vegetation often outcompetes native plants and is more dangerous during wildfires. Help us keep to protect the natural character of our wild lands by removing Oxeye daisy, an ornamental, invasive plant.
Volunteers will be treating weeds during the day with opportunities to hike and fish in the evenings. This trip will span four days - June 20-23 - one day in, two days working and one day out. Volunteers will hike the 6.5 miles in and out but packers will carry in the food, spraying materials and if we are lucky, some of our gear! The area is also known to hold mule deer, moose and, of course, bears, so there is a good chance of wildlife encounters.
Please only register if your commitment is solid, as this trip is limited to 8 participants and it's important that we fill it. At the signup page, you'll find more information on the project, volunteer expectations and the packing list.
